강철 모형(Men of Steel Series)

To honor the heroes of history, the artists of Hanwei have been commissioned to sculpt their images in miniature, sized for display in a collection or as accent pieces. These sculptures are now being replicated by the investment casting process and, as befits these Men of Steel, we have chosen stainless steel rather than a lower quality material as the casting medium.

로브 로이(Rob Roy) (2016-GT), born Robert MacGregor (1671 - 1734), was a Scot who fought against the tyranny of the land barons in the Scotland of the early 18th century.  A soldier at eighteen, he espoused the Jacobite cause and fought for the Stuart King James against the English. After his own lands were confiscated by the Duke of Montrose he became a champion of the oppressed and organized a number of uprisings against the oppressors.  Famed for his resistance to authority and acclaimed as the best swordsman in Scotland, Rob Roy was a true hero of the people. 피디피더스(Phidippides) (2017-GT), the legendary Greek hero whose exploits introduced the word Marathon into the vocabulary of athletics, was an Athenian soldier/runner charged with enlisting the aid of the Spartans when the Persian army landed on the plains of Marathon, about twenty six miles from Athens, in 490 BC.  After a 280-mile round-trip run to Sparta, Phidippides marched with the Athenian army to Marathon, fought in the victory over the Persians and then ran back to Athens to warn of a direct Persian attack on the city - where he collapsed and died from exhaustion. His actions helped to keep the Persians from conquering what is now Europe - a turning point in world history. Measures: 9-1/2" x 4" x 6-1/4"

The Viking 레프 에릭슨(Lief Eriksson) (2020-GT) (975 - 1020) is believed by many to be the first European to set foot on North American soil, almost five hundred years before Columbus. Setting sail on unknown frigid seas from a Greenland colony established by his father, Eric the Red, Eriksson touched Baffin Island and Labrador before reaching the land he named Vinland (probably Newfoundland). After building houses and wintering over in Vinland, the party retraced its steps to Greenland, a round trip of some 2500 miles in an open boat. Our "Men at Arms" series of medieval fighting men, crafted in solid stainless steel at approximately 1/12 scale, are clad in accurate representations of armour of the period.

The 15th century archer (2022-GT) , from the time of Edward VI, is equipped with a mail coat and a brigandine of metal platelets in a fabric jacket, providing the flexibility needed for drawing the bow. In the sixteenth century semi-heavy cavalry adopted the three-quarter armour and our cavalryman (2024-GT), in his burgonet-style helmet, is protected below the knees only by his leather riding boots. The field armour with a close helmet (2023-GT) dates from the 1570's, when the pointed-waist peasecod style of breastplate became popular. The original of this richly decorated piece was probably the work of German armourers.
