Our "Men at Arms" series of medieval fighting men, crafted in solid stainless steel at approximately 1/12 scale, are clad in accurate representations of armour of the period.
The 15th century archer (2022-GT) , from the time of Edward VI,
is equipped with a mail coat and a brigandine of metal platelets in a fabric
jacket, providing the flexibility needed for drawing the bow. In the sixteenth
century semi-heavy cavalry adopted the three-quarter armour and our cavalryman
(2024-GT), in his burgonet-style helmet, is protected below the knees only by his
leather riding boots. The field armour with a close helmet (2023-GT) dates from the 1570's, when the pointed-waist peasecod style of breastplate
became popular. The original of this richly decorated piece was probably
the work of German armourers.
